Clinical Director
BSc(Hons) BVetMed(Hons) GPCert(SAS) MRCVS PgCertDenSarah joined us a few years after graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2010, and holds certificates in surgery and dentistry. She lives on a farm and has a cat called Harrison, who has her wrapped around his little finger! In her spare time, she loves walking and going on trips in her campervan.

RVN, C&G Cert, SAN, C-SQPEmma qualified as a registered veterinary nurse in 1997, after which she achieved a City and Guilds certificate in small animal nutrition and an ILM level five diploma in management. She lives with her husband, two daughters and two dogs, and loves running with her running club, walking, socialising and going on family bike rides.

Bvetmed MRCVS GPcert DIMOriginally from York, Kathyrn graduated from the Royal Veterinary college in 2014 and joined our team a few years later. She has a keen interest in diagnostic imaging, which she holds advanced practitioner status in, and abdominal ultrasound scans. In her spare time, she enjoys walking her dogs.

BVSc MRCVS PgCertDentKathryn graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2015, and has been with our practice ever since. She has a special interest in dental surgery, which she holds an extra qualification in, and helps organise our client information evenings. Much of her free time is spent exploring York with her dog, who loves to run, eat and swim! She also enjoys baking, particularly creating new iced biscuit designs.

Rona Williams

BVSc(Hons) MRCVS ILM Level 5 Diploma in ManagementI graduated in 2003 from University of Liverpool and my interests include acupuncture for dogs and cats as part of pain management. I work at both Crockey Hill surgery and our main hospital and do both operating and consulting. I am also qualified to sign pet travel documentation for those who want to take their pets abroad. At home I have a young family and a bouncy cocker spaniel and we love going to Dalby Forest on walks and exploring the local countryside.

BSc. BVM&S MRCVSI graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1997 and have worked in various roles both in clinical practice and within the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. My main interest is in emergency and critical care and I currently lead the York Emergency Vets team which operate out of hours at the Salisbury Road branch. In my spare time, I enjoy rowing on the Ouse, SCUBA diving in UK coastal waters and spending time with the family.

BVetMed MRCVSI graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2013 and after a stint of working in London, I completed a years internship at a referral centre in Cambridge before moving up to Yorkshire in 2018. I have been with Minster since February 2019 and split my time between Salisbury Road and The Mount in Malton. I love my new home in Yorkshire and spend my days off surfing, swimming and walking our two lurchers.

I enjoy many aspects of small animal practice, and have a particular interest in surgery and pain management. I’m delighted to be back to my roots working in the beautiful city of York, spending my spare time exploring its surroundings and messing about in my little sailboat.

MA(cantab) VetMB PGCertSAM MRCVSI joined Minster shortly after I graduated from the University of Cambridge in 2017 and I completed my Post Graduate Certificate in Small Animal Medicine in 2022. My main interests are endocrinology (diseases affecting hormones, such as diabetes), critical care and cats; so you will usually find me looking after poorly inpatients at the Salisbury Road Hospital. I live in York with my husband and my naughty black cat Fiji. In my spare time I enjoy spinning, pub quizzes and curling up with a good book.

I have a particular interest in Small Animal Medicine and Imaging, but do still really enjoy surgical cases as well. My husband Martin and I have recently moved to York along with our Westie-cross-Bichon Lola, and we are really enjoying exploring our new home.

I have always wanted to work in small animal practice; while I am enjoying gaining experience in all aspects of veterinary medicine, I have particular interests in ophthalmology and the surgical side. Having moved to York recently, in my spare time I love exploring the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, hiking and meeting up with friends.

Since graduating from the Royal Veterinary College in 2020 I’ve been working at Minster – I have a particular interest in surgery and dentistry and spend my time mostly between the Salisbury Road hospital and the branch at Crockey Hill. When not at work you can usually find me walking the dog and exploring the Yorkshire countryside.

I have always been based at the Copmanthorpe surgery where I have got to know my patients very well over the years.
I am particularly keen on looking after pets in their twilight years to ensure their lives are as comfortable as possible.
I live with my husband and 2 daughters and a very naughty German short haired pointer called Doris.
When I’m not out walking Doris I like to spend my free time cycling. -

I completed a post-graduate certificate in small animal medicine in 2017, then shortly afterwards I obtained Advanced Practioner Status in small animal medicine. I then went on to complete an advanced certificate in small animal medicine in November 2022. I enjoy looking after the ward patients at the Salisbury Road Hospital and working up medical cases. I live in York with my husband, children and dog, and in my spare time I enjoy baking and running.

After 2 years of treating all species I decided I wanted to focus my efforts on caring for companion animals and moved over to Minster vets. I enjoy many areas of veterinary medicine but particularly enjoy surgery and have an interest in canine behaviour. When I’m not working I spend most of my time training with my Cocker Spaniel Holly.

At the moment I spend a lot of my time working out of the Willow Grove branch at Earswick. I possess the OV (official veterinarian) qualification which allows me to assist with foreign pet travel. I live in York with my partner and our Ragdoll cat Luna.

I live in York with my sports mad family and my scruffy, little dog, Chucky.

BVSC MRCVSI qualified from the University of Bristol in 2003 and joined Minster Veterinary Practice in 2015. I am based at the Willow Groove branch and enjoy all aspects of veterinary work. I particularly enjoy helping owners with any behaviour issues their pets may have. I also have the ‘Official Veterinarian’ qualification so can help you get travel abroad with your pets should you wish to do so. I live with my husband and two sport loving children just outside of York along with our cat Peggy who is aging gracefully just like her owner!

When I am not working, I love spending time with my children, countryside walks with my Cocker Spaniel Otto, baking and gardening.

Away from work, she is married with two sons and owns two dogs, three cats and three horses, including two thoroughbred racehorses, which compete in point-to-points, with her son Alex in the saddle. Tanya has been a vet for 28 years after graduating from Glasgow University. She treats strays from Cats Protection.

RVN C-SQPI started my nursing career in 2004 and completed my nursing diploma in 2009. Becoming an RVN was a lifelong ambition. I have been at Minster Veterinary Practice for many years now, I love my job, no two days are ever the same. I became nurse manager in 2017 and this role has been challenging at times, but still the passion for the job remains. I still get to do clinical work and keep my nursing skills to date as much as possible, as well as managing a vast team of skilled Registered Veterinary Nurses, Student Veterinary Nurses and Animal Nursing Assistants. At home, I have 2 rescued one-eyed cats (Wilma and Betty) and two sons.

RVN NCert(Anaesth)I qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2016 from the College of Animal Welfare and joined the Minster Veterinary Practice just less than a year later. I have a keen interest in anaesthesia and dental surgery and have achieved a certificate in both of these areas. I am a clinical coach and as one of the senior nurses in the practice I get to help with training and teaching and especially enjoy it in these areas. In my spare time I enjoy running and recently completed my first marathon! I also enjoy walking with my partner and cocker spaniel Fig.

Since then I have completed my certificate in emergency and critical care and enjoy spending time teaching students as a clinic coach. I have a much-loved pug called Vinny who you may see in reception at Salisbury road from time to time.

Alongside being part of the senior team now I am also a clinical coach and enjoy helping the students progress with their training. I have a Border Terrier at home called Nell and in my spare time I love to go on dog walks and spend time with my family.

RVNVeterinary nurse Michelle Coatsworth has been a familiar face at Mount Veterinary Group since 1999. She loves working in the local community where she grew up. As well as nursing, she has a special interest in running puppy clinics, helping owners understand their pet’s behaviour and assessing other veterinary nurses. She owns a four-year-old Jack Russell called Woody, so is working hard at practising what she preaches in puppy training classes!

RVN C-SQPI joined the Minster Veterinary Practice in 1996 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2001. I achieved a city and guilds in nursing of exotic species and became a practice nurse in 2003. My passion is nurse clinics which I manage for all the sites. I am also an insurance advisor, a dental healthcare and weight management advisor and a feline friendly advocate. I have a cat called Tigger and a horse called Dino who I ride for pleasure. I also have a small flock of chickens, and my children love helping collect the eggs and feeding them. My husband and I run holiday cottages so spare time is taken up talking with guests or taking our two boys to various sporting activities.

I completed my training with Minster Vets and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2021. I have always had a passion for Veterinary Nursing and love every part of my job, I am excited to further my knowledge in my career!
At home, I have a black Labrador called Dora and a rescue cat called Archie.

RVNI joined Minster in October 2022 as a Registered Veterinary Nurse after qualifying with a Foundation degree in July 2021. I then completed my BSc (Hons) degree in Veterinary Nursing in November 2022. I am very passionate about all aspects of nursing but my main interests are emergency and critical care, medicine, surgery, anaesthesia and nurse consultations. At home, I have my much loved Labrador x Jack Russell, Holly. She’s a bit of an older lady but is a lover for attention, luxury and comfort. Holly was diagnosed with diabetes in December 2020, which sparked my interest in Diabetes. I then became a Diabetic Advisor in October 2021.

RVNI started at the Mount veterinary group in 2005 as a student nurse to do my training. I went on to qualify as an RVN in 2008. I enjoy working at the mount amongst the friendly staff and clients. It’s nice to be part of a small team where you know all the clients and patients well, dealing with them on reception, in consults, in operations, and their aftercare. I like dealing with dogs and cats but also have an interest in rabbits and guinea pigs. I now work part-time as at home I’m busy with my young children.

After 11 years of working in equine practice, I want to make full use of my RVN and become an accomplished nurse with as many species as possible. I have always loved emergency and critical care nursing and theatre nursing but I am also really looking forward to expanding my knowledge and skills with the different aspects of nursing small animals. At home are my husband, two children and I have a cat called Colin and of course a horse, named Kal! Most of my spare time is taken up with my busy household but I also like to try and keep fit with running and gym sessions.

RVNVeterinary nurse Jane Owen has worked at Mount Veterinary Group since 2001. She qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2005 and since then has worked hard continually developing her knowledge and skills. Jane is passionate about providing a high level of care to clients and their pets. She is particularly interested in assisting in theatre, running nurse clinics, animal behaviour and helping to train student nurses.

From here I began my nurse training at Askham Bryan College, eventually qualifying as a veterinary nurse in 2021. I love all aspects of my job and love caring for all animals. At home I have my husband and we have a little girl and two ragdoll cats. In my spare time I love spending time with my family, we enjoy travel and love all things Disney!

Starting off working in veterinary out of hours and emergency care,I then moved into being senior nurse then head nurse in my last practice. In October 2022 I joined the out of hours team at Minster Vets and I am very much enjoying her role in emergency and critical care. My passions are nursing the elderly patient, diabetes and endocrinology. I absolutely love Staffordshire Bull Terriers and Rabbits.

I started as an animal nursing assistant at Minster in September 2021 and have now progressed to studying veterinary nursing. Prior to this I completed a BSc honours degree in Animal Behaviour and welfare back in 2017. Animals have always been my biggest passion and I look forward to furthering my career and knowledge within the veterinary industry. At home, I have my other half George and our rescue dog Lenny who started his life in Romania.

I began working as an ANA for the emergency team in may 2022 and I love my job. The team are brilliant, and you never know what to expect working nights, it’s always a varied working week. I hope to start a Nursing assistant qualification in September 2023. Although I’ve always been a ‘dog person’ I now have a ginger cat called Jason, who was a stray brought to the practice. In my free time I enjoy cooking, and trying new restaurants whenever I can. In the last few years I have also developed a serious golf addiction, much to my partners dismay….

I have always wanted to work with animals, which led me to gain a degree in Animal Management & Science Bsc (Hons) from Askham Bryan College in 2018. I am most passionate about exotics & welfare. I am really excited to progress in my role, hoping to pursue veterinary nursing in the future. At home, we have a rescue Rabbit called Winter and a crested Gecko named Icarus. In my spare time, I enjoy playing my piano, Spiritual practices & spending time in nature with my fiancee Phil!

When I’m not at work I enjoy walking my two Jack Russell’s Buddy and Mollie in our beautiful Yorkshire Countryside.

I live out in the countryside and have lots of fury friends that keep me busy. 3 horses, 3 cats, 2 guinea pigs, 3 chickens, 2 cheeky pygmy goats, and my little shadow, Flo (a Cockapoo!). I love being outdoors, especially abroad! and In my spare time I play Hockey, Figure skate and ride my Irish draft Ruby.

I like to socialise with family/friends and eating out.

I joined the Minster Team in March 2019 left then rejoined in 2021, I missed them all, Such a great team of people to work with. I enjoy my job meeting and greeting the pets and clients old and new no day is ever the same. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my dogs, family and friends

It’s always been a passion of mine to work with animals and after completing my Extended Diploma in Animal Management at Askham Bryan College, I came to work for Minster Vets. I enjoy going on hikes with friends in the countryside and staying at cute campsites over long weekends.

I joined Minster in July 2019 as a part time receptionist after having my first baby. This was a complete career change for me but I am mad for animals so knew I would love it! Almost 4 years and another baby later and I am so grateful that I was given this opportunity, I love my job and the amazing team I work with. When I’m not at work I’m busy being a mum to my 2 little boys, we enjoy going for days out and meeting up with our family and friends.

C-SQPAs a qualified Veterinary Nurse since 1983, I joined Minster Veterinary Practice in 2007 working in the Crockey Hill branch for ten years before joining the administration team at Salisbury Road. My family and I share our home with a mischievous chihuahua cross, Holly and three playful cats, Tilly, and the mischievous siblings Norman and Norris! I really enjoy yoga, skiing and musical theatre in my spare time.

I am a qualified teacher, but having taught for 19 years as a primary school teacher, decided to have a change of career and have worked at The Minster Veterinary Practice since February 2014. Outside of work, family life keeps me very busy and my husband and I have 3 children and a dog so life is never dull!
